1/One of the reasons is that a buyer panics and feels overwhelmed with the thought of actually packing up ones belongings and moving on. So a buyer may take the comfortable option and decide to stay put.


2/Your buyer may lose their job or take a promotion or could even win the lottery. They may decide to start a family and your house that was to be their dream home no longer fits the criteria. Your buyer could even die!

3/ In some instances the buyer will see another property which they prefer or a property which they feel is more value for money.
4/Some of these issues are unavoidable, however people do fail to complete due to things not progressing as quickly as they would wish. Unlike Scotland, an offer in this country is not legally binding until exchange of contracts and the longer this takes, finds buyers or sellers with  plenty of opportunity to pull out of the deal.
